First of all, I've ordered this item at the very beginning of January
and by mid-January it was already here. Which is quite amazing,
considering
that it was an international shipping order (to Croatia, Europe) and
free of charge. It also arrived nicely packaged in bubble wrap
and
completely undamaged. I have also received A BUNCH of samples, and most
of them were of things I really wanted to try out, so that is a big
plus.
I am extremely pleased with the service :D
Now for the product itself:
This is an item specially designed for oily, acne-prone skin. It is oil free, claims to help control sebum and oiliness of the face, an therefore combat acne.
This all sounds perfect for my skin - since I am struggling with acne.
This is also a physical sunscreen (it contains titanium oxide), which means it doesn't need to be reapplied as often as chemical sunscreen.
(Physical sunscreens: those containing titanium or zinc oxide; actually sit on top of your skin and absorb the damaging sun rays, while
chemical sunscreens disintegrate in the sun and need to be reapplied at least every two hours).
I like not having to worry about reapplying every 2 hrs, simple as that :D
It does go on feeling a bit oily and leaves you looking whitish (but that's what all physical sunscreens do), and the color fades quite quickly (max. 30 secs).
It does leave a slight shine, but only for up to 2 minutes after application.
I don't know if it's helped my acne, but it didn't make it worse. As for the sebum control - I'm not so sure it's effective. My face got a bit oily after a couple of hours - but that's where blotting sheets come in.
The other negative thing about it is that it contains parabens, so if you are trying to be careful about not using them, this is not the product for you.
Also, it is only PA++, while for optimum protection you want to look for PA+++ (however, it does say it blocks both UVA and UVB rays, so that's a plus).
The price is what attracted me to this product - it's 9 USD for 50 ml, significantly cheaper than any facial sunscreen I can buy where I live.
Overall, I find it OK, not the best at all. I will use up this entire product, but I will probably not repurchase it.
P.S. I've included some pictures of the packaging, as well as some pictures of swatches so you can see what it looks like when it comes out of the tube and how it goes from white - to somewhat shiny on the skin and than completely absorbs within minutes.
